The soundest investment we could have made
Holiday Cabins
David and Colleen Trusty live in Lancashire but have holidayed in South West Wales for nearly 20 years. After successful careers, they had built significant savings but found themselves increasingly dissatisfied with conventional investment opportunities.
“After some thought, we hit upon the idea of buying a holiday lodge that could also be used by our family and friends,” says Colleen. “We looked around South West Wales and came across Penlan Holiday Village in Carmarthenshire”.
Penlan is a well-established family-run site. It already had lodges located attractively around its 23 acres, and the owners wanted to introduce new Norwegian Log Lomond transportable holiday lodges. The Lomond offers three bedrooms plus generous living space in just under 67 m2 (717 sq.ft.).
“We loved the site from the outset, finding it peaceful and well kept,” continues Colleen. Combined with the quality of the Norwegian Log building they wanted, it proved a perfect package for the Trustys.
“We immediately put down our deposit for the first of the Lomond lodges at Penlan,” says Colleen. “We chose the thicker 120 mm log, and enjoyed the ability to customise our lodge, which meant we could make it really suit us and our family.”
“The care taken at every stage of the build was impressive, from the first designs by the Norwegian Log team through the final internal fit by the Penlan team. We’re absolutely delighted with the end result,” adds David “And if that wasn’t enough, the value of the lodge has far outstripped the performance of the financial markets, making it the soundest investment we could have made.”
